Uploading Off-Road Calibration to Your AutoCal Device:

1. Download Required Software:

   • Use a USB cable to connect your AutoCal device to a Windows 10 or newer PC.

   • Obtain the necessary EFILive software from the official download page: Click here

Important: Update Your AutoCal Firmware Before Loading the New Off-Road Tune File. Failure to do so may result in compatibility issues and potential damage to your Engine Control Module (ECM).

Firmware Update Steps:

1. Update EFILive Software:

   • Open the EFILive V8 Scan and Tune software.

   • Click on "Check for Updates" on the homepage. If an update is available, follow the prompts to install it.

2. Update Firmware and Configuration Files:

   • Within the EFILive V8 Scan and Tune software, select "Check Firmware."

   • In the dialog box that appears, choose the options to update both the Firmware Version and the Configuration Files.

After completing these updates, your AutoCal device will be ready for reprogramming.

AutoCal Reprogramming Overview:

Note: Use EFILive Scan and Tune software for programming. Do not use Explorer unless specifically instructed.

Quick Setup Programming:

The Quick Setup method efficiently programs all necessary files to make your AutoCal functional. Your tuner should provide you with a .bbx quick setup file via email.

1. Save the .bbx file:

   • Download and save the .bbx file from your tuner to the following directory:

     • Documents\EFILive\V8\BBX

     • Alternatively, you can save it to your Downloads or Desktop folder.

2. Connect AutoCal to PC:

   • Attach your AutoCal device to your PC using a USB cable.

   • Launch the V8 Scan and Tune software.

3. Load the Quick Setup File:

   • Navigate to [F5: BBX] -> [F6: Quick Setup] within the software.

   • Click on [Open Quick Setup] and locate the .bbx file you saved earlier

4. Program the Device:

   • Avoid altering any settings unless directed by your tuner.

   • Select [Program Quick Setup] to transfer the device settings, controller configurations, and tune files to your AutoCal.

Special Note for 2018+ Cummins Off-Road Vehicles:

Before re-flashing your truck, ensure the bypass cable is installed.

Caution During Flashing Process:

While the flashing process is underway, refrain from interacting with any electronic accessories. This includes avoiding actions such as using the radio, opening or closing doors, or operating windows.

The standard version offers fixed tuning and need manual updates for any changes, making it suitable for users who need a single performance setting. The SOTF version allows users to change power levels instantly via a cab-mounted switch without re-flashing the ECM, providing flexibility for those who need to adjust performance quickly under varying conditions, such as stock, tow, street, or race for customized performance.

Q: Does this come with the transmission tune?
A: It's included and written in the tune itself (not a separate file) for the 68RFE transmission.

Q: Will this tuner work if my truck is already deleted and I want to flash my truck and get rid of the tuner that’s on it?
A: While it's best practice to flash your truck back to the factory before installing another aftermarket tune, if that option is not available to you, Yes, the tuner will override whatever was on the truck before with our tune.

Q: When I install this, the service emissions code will also be gone?
A: Yes, this will turn off any check engine lights, service messages, and derates that are active due to emissions issues.

Q: Does your delete work well with the Aisin transmission?
A: Works great, and doesn't impact the AISIN at all.

Q: Is the stock tune saved so I could return it to stock if I wanted?
A: No, EFI live does not have this ability.

Q: Is the 100 HP tune safe to run on a stock LML Duramax?
A: No modifications are needed to run the +100HP tune. If you want to use it to hot rod the truck, then the extra acceleration can cause extra wear and tear on the transmission.

Q: If I remove the EGR and cooler completely and install a new air intake pipe in its place instead of just blocking plates (which means disconnecting the wiring harness to the egr solenoid), will this tuner still keep any code or check engine light from popping on?
A: Yes, the EFI tuner will install a delete tune that will prevent any emissions-related check engine light from ever coming on again. Unplugging the EGR is a normal part of the delete process as well. You'll still have a CEL for anything normal, like a loose fuel cap or a bad sensor.

Q: Is transmission tuning available for this? Or options for it?
A: It doesn't have a trans tune as an option here.

Q: Can other different tunes be downloaded to the tuner from somewhere else?
A: Yes, all you need to do is unlock the device by purchasing an unlock code from EFI live, Then whichever tuner you want to link up with, ask them to send you the required codes to lock it to them. If you are not sure how to do this, contact us at service@dpfexhaust.com and we will help you.

Q: Is there no tuning option for 5-speed Alison?
A: It's written into the tune included for the ECM and optimizes line pressure for each power setting.

Q: Are these clean and smokeless tunes, or do they throw a puff of smoke?
A: The tune does not purposely cause smoke, but if you drive the truck hard on the highest power settings, you may blow some smoke on hard acceleration. Tune itself is clean and smokeless.

Q: Will this disable my EGR?
A: Yes.

Q: I bought a truck with a DPS5 and tunes already installed, but do not know what tunes are in it. Will this delete those tunes and start from scratch?
A: We recommend removing the old tunes, or flashing the truck's ECM back to factory settings before uploading our tunes to the truck.

Q: Does the shift on the fly work with the lbz Duramax?
A: SOTF works for all pickup versions from 2001-2016. But for LML only (2011-2016) you will need an electronic transfer case for SOTF.

Q: Will this delete the EGR out of my car?
A: Yes, it will delete the entire emission system, including, but not limited to the EGR and the DPF.
