Hot Side Intercooler Pipe Kit For 2004.5–2010 6.6L LLY LBZ LMM Duramax Diesel

Enhance the reliability and airflow of your 6.6L Duramax diesel with our Hot Side Intercooler Pipe Kit, engineered for 2004.5–2010 LLY, LBZ, and LMM engines. This performance upgrade replaces the failure-prone factory plastic hot-side pipe with a high-strength mandrel-bent aluminum pipe, designed to withstand extreme boost pressure and high engine temperatures.

Stock plastic charge pipe might weaken over time due to heat cycles and increased turbo pressure—especially on trucks used for towing, hauling, or performance tuning. Our upgrade eliminates this common weak point by providing stronger materials, improved airflow, and better boost reliability.

Whether your truck is stock or modified, this hot-side intercooler pipe kit delivers long-term durability and dependable performance for daily driving, heavy-duty work, or high-performance applications.

💡How to tell whether you have LBZ or LLY or LMM engine?

FAQ

Q: What are the benefits of upgrading the hot side intercooler pipe?

The factory plastic pipe is known to crack or fail under high heat and boost pressure. Upgrading to an aluminum pipe improves durability, airflow, and boost reliability, especially on tuned or heavily used trucks.

Q: Does this upgrade require ECU tuning?

No. This kit is a direct bolt-on replacement and works perfectly with factory ECU tuning.

Q: Will this kit work with the OEM turbo and intercooler?

Yes. The pipe is designed to fit directly with the factory turbocharger and intercooler system.

Q: Can I use this kit with other aftermarket performance parts?

Yes. It is compatible with most aftermarket intercoolers, turbos, and intake upgrades designed for the 6.6L Duramax platform.

Q: How difficult is installation?

Installation typically takes 1–2 hours using basic hand tools, with no fabrication or special equipment required.

Q: How to determine which Duramax engine I have?

The simplest way to verify which Duramax series you have is to interpret the VIN# of the truck. With some exceptions, the 8th digit is the engine ID and it will either be a 1, 2, D, 6, 8, L, or Y.

• 01-04.5 LB7 is a 1
• 04.5-05 LLY is a 2
• 06 LLY is a 2 (uses same injectors as LBZ)
• 06-07 LBZ is a D
• 07-10 LMM is a 6 (new body style GMT 900 series)
• 11-16 LML is an 8
• 11-16 LGH is an L (Van application)
• 17+ L5P is a Y

Example: 1GCHK29143EXXXXXX for LB7 and 1GCHK29245EXXXXX for LLY.

Upgrade your Duramax charge air system with our Hot Side Intercooler Pipe Kit, designed to deliver stronger boost reliability, improved airflow efficiency, and long-lasting durability for LLY, LBZ, and LMM Duramax diesel engines.
